Chateau Haut Brion 1998 RED France Chateau Haut Brion 1998 RED France

Founded in 1525 Chateau Haut Brion is the oldest of Bordeaux's five Premier Grand Cru Classe clarets. The 1998 vintage has impressed a host of noted wine critics including Robert Parker who calls it liquid nobility awarding a near perfect score of 96 points. It exhibits a dense rubypurple colour in addition to a tight but incredibly promising nose of smoke earth minerals lead pencil black currants cherries and spice. This full bodied wine unfolds slowly but convincingly on the palate revealing a rich multi tiered stunningly pure symmetrical style with wonderful sweetness. Robert Parker
